The CLEWATEC website is hosted on an internal server of Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). HZDR is the coordinator of the CLEWATEC project and is also responsible for the CLEWATEC website.

We use https (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure) on this website, which is the secure version of HTTP encrypting all communications between your browser and the website. Users should, however, be aware that internet data transfer (e.g. through e-mail communication) can encounter security issues. Complete protection from access by third parties is impossible.

Data processing

Protocols, Log Files

When users access our website https://www.clewatec.de, a series of technical data will automatically be logged. This data and information is saved in the logfiles of the server. Data including your computer’s IP address, the referred URL, your browser identification and domain, the name of the file retrieved, the date and time of the retrieval, the data amount transferred as well as the successful retrieval will be saved in a logfile. The processing of personal data occurs to ensure the functionality of the website as well as for troubleshooting and for the investigation of misuse and fraud on the basis of a legitimate interest according to Art. 6 Par. 1 Sentence 1 lit. f of DSGVO. All logfiles are deleted after a period of seven days.

With the use of cookies set by Google Analytics, user data (e.g. websites visited, access times) as well as communication data (e.g. IP addresses, device information) are processed on our behalf to analyze the usage of our online offer, to compile reports about the activities within our online offer as well as to provide services that are related to the use of our online offer. Hereby, the creation of pseudonymized user profiles is also possible.

All personal data processed will be deleted after 14 months or will be completely anonymized. Further information with regard to the data used by Google, the configuration options and the possibilities for appeal can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy as well as in the settings for the display of ads by Google.

Moreover, only technically necessary cookies are used on the basis of a legitimate interest according to Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. f of DSGVO. The legitimate interest of HZDR hereby exists in ensuring the usability and provision of the website in compliance with data protection laws (e.g. the storing of the selections made with regard to the cookie banner) as well as in ensuring the unlimited technical functionality of the website.

You have the option to opt out of these cookies by disabling the cookies in the cookie settings. Opting out of some of these cookies might however have an effect on your browsing experience and the use of the website. Contact Forms

On our website, we provide a contact form which you can use to contact us. With the use of this contact form, we process the personal data provided by you, in particular your name and e-mail address, for the clarification of your request on the basis of Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. b of DSGVO. All further fields are optional. Furthermore, we process your IP address and the time of use in order ot prevent and investigate cases of misuse. The processing of the personal data provided is based on the legitimate interest according to Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. f of DSGVO.

All personal data provided by you will be treated confidentially by us and will only be used for processing your request and will not be passed on to third parties unless the type of request may require it in particular cases. The deletion of all personal data occurs after your request has been finally clarified or by appeal from your side. The deletion of the logged IP address as well as the date and time of the contact request occurs after seven days. The deletion times indicated hereby are only valid unless they do not conflict with the legal retention periods for data storage.

We use Google Fonts for a uniform presentation of fonts in the different browsers of our website visitors and for the technically secure, maintenance-free and efficient use of fonts as well as in consideration of possible license restrictions for their implementation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. f of DSGVO. The data (CSS, fonts) is requested from the Google domain fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. According to Google, the request for fonts is carried out separately from all other Google services. According to its own statements, Google limits itself to providing only the fonts and analyzes the visitors’ data only in an aggregated form. That means, the sum of all data is only used for compiling statistics (e.g. which fonts are used how often). Therefore, user data (e.g. the interest in contents) as well as meta and communication data (e.g. device information and IP addresses) are processed in an aggregated form according to Google’s own information.

Links to External Offers

We link to external websites as well as to social media providers. The connection is set up in such a way that no data is passed on to the provider of external offers when visiting our website.

When clicking on a link or button, you will, however, be sent directly to that external offer. These sites collect and process your data – particularly log data (including IP address, browser type, operating system, previously accessed website, accessed pages, cookie information – according to their own user guidelines and/or privacy polices which you can view on the respective sites.

You can at all times request information on your personal data being processed and where necessary request the correction, deletion or limitation of its processing or object to its processing. Furthermore, you have the right for data transmission in your favour. Moreover, the data processing can be revoked at all times provided that it has been processed on the basis of a previous approval. For the execution of your rights, the data protection representative, the Dresdner Institut für Datenschutz, will be at your disposal under dsb@hzdr.de (further contact details can be found under www.dids.de). Furthermore, you have the right of appeal at a data protection supervisory authority according to Art. 77 of DSGVO if it is presumed that the processing of personal data occurs unlawfully.
